Have accompanied her on a few occasions for church services and always admire her passion, her inspiration, her imagination of creating something new with music in seconds, no notes needed, true gift of letting piano playing look like it‘s the easiest thing to do in the world. Mrs Morrick definitely pushed me to aim higher and try harder every time. I even thought she’s trying to make me do the impossible, but everytime I managed to achieve what she wanted me and surprised myself. She’s passionate and hard working, her love for music is evident and inspiring.

Mrs Morrick is an incredible teacher who manages to balance being a friend to her students while opening them up to a whole wonderful world of music. She is kind and encouraging but also teaches at an incredibly high standard and instills a love of music in her students. One of the best things that happened to our son was meeting Mrs Morrick!

Where do I start, Irene Morrick is phenomenal. Irene will go the extra mile for her students. I have personally worked with Irene last year with our school choir. The connection that she has with each learner is beyond amazing. Every encounter with Irene is exciting. I have learnt a lot as a novice conductor. She is a wealth of knowledge. I was able to see her transform my solo performers right in front of my eyes, and could not believe how much she could achieve with them in a short space of time. Mrs Morrick was my vocal coach and choir instructor throughout primary school and helped me discover and develop my love for singing. I recall all of those Eisteddfods and how Mrs Morrick’s students would be the ones to bring life, variety and entertainment to the stage, always going home with diplomas. She has such a wide and beautiful knowledge of music and truly helps people develop their own sound. She’s very passionate about her craft so she can definitely come off a bit strict, but her method has a way of transforming any student into a well rounded skillful musician. She’s also loads of fun and has a way of making us feel at home and supported at Jozi Youth Choir. Our choir practices are what i look forward to most in the week.

Mrs Morrick was more than just a wonderful music teacher – she became a friend. Throughout my lessons the constantly pushed me to be a better version of myself. Where I struggled, she would take her time to help me get it right. She helped me with all forms of music and insisted music should be fun. She helped me discover my passion for music through all forms. She is an absolute professional and I highly recommend her for any music lessons.

30 years later since my first piano lesson with Irene and I continue to carry those treasured music memories even to this day.
